The Future is 3D: Our Advanced Design Process
At Dia Design, we believe that millimetric precision starts long before the airbrush touches the shell. That’s why we’ve integrated state-of-the-art 3D modeling and rendering into our workflow.
Why does 3D make a difference?
Traditionally, helmet graphics were presented on 2D sketches. While useful, “flat views” cannot convey the real curvature of the shell and how colors react to light at different angles.
Thanks to our 3D preview:
- Total Precision: We can simulate the flow of lines on the complex curves of the helmet (e.g., around air intakes).
- Chromatic Realism: We simulate the effect of glossy, matte, glittered, or chrome paints under different lighting conditions.
- Zero Surprises: The driver sees exactly what their finished helmet will look like, allowing for instant changes before the painting phase.
Our Process
- Concept & Sketch: We start with the driver’s idea and define the graphic guidelines.
- Volumetric Modeling: We apply the design on an accurate 3D model of the chosen helmet model (Bell, Stilo, Arai).
- Photorealistic Rendering: We generate 360° images and videos that show every detail, from sponsor logos to the subtlest nuances.
- Final Approval: Once the driver is satisfied with the “digital twin,” we move to the artisanal phase in the workshop.
This technology allows us to raise the quality standard, offering an excellence service that combines digital innovation with the attention to detail typical of Made in Italy.
