Custom Stilo ST6 helmet design for Riccardo Tucci
Riccardo Tucci and CRM Competition: Japanese Style Meets the Lamborghini Huracán
The fusion of GT car speed and professional airbrush art reaches its peak in motorsport. In the 2026 Italian GT Championship Sprint (GTCup class), Milanese driver Riccardo Tucci takes on the tracks behind the wheel of the powerful Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo EVO 2 run by CRM Competition. For this major racing season, Riccardo decided to completely revamp the look of his Stilo ST6 helmet, commissioning Dia Design to create one of the most complex and fascinating graphics ever produced in our studio.

The Stilo ST6 shell represents the state of the art in terms of safety and aerodynamic performance. Working on this surface requires not only creativity but also millimeter-level precision to preserve the structural properties of the FIA-homologated helmet.
The Graphic Concept and Japanese Iconography
The design of this helmet is a true tribute to Japanese culture and iconography. The graphics unfold on an asymmetric base combining matte ivory pearl white and matte black, providing a sleek background for the custom details:
- Japanese Waves (Seigaiha): A dense Kanagawa-style wave pattern wrapping the shell, designed to flow with the helmet’s aerodynamic curves.
- The Eastern Dragon: Airbrushed on the top of the helmet, a traditional hand-shaded dragon dominates the shell with precise details.
- The Kanji (闘志): The Japanese symbol for “Fighting Spirit” (toushi) is positioned vertically on the rear of the helmet, capturing Riccardo’s race-day mindset.
- Cherry Blossoms (Sakura): Positioned on the sides of the helmet, the pink cherry blossoms and neon accents elegantly break up the monochrome base.

The Technical Challenge: Precision Matte-Gloss Contrast
From a technical standpoint, this project was an intense craftsmanship challenge. The curved surface of the Stilo ST6 shell makes applying such dense geometric patterns highly complex without causing visual distortion. Through point-to-point vector styling and precise hand-masking, we achieved outstanding line definition.
The ultimate premium detail lies in the texture contrast: while the white and black background features a deep matte finish, the personal RT logo, the RICK TUCCI name on the visor, the Kanji, the cherry blossoms, and the neon accents are sealed with a high-resistance gloss clear coat. This mix reflects track lighting in a unique way, highlighting every airbrushed line.

Every line, masking, and shading was executed entirely by hand in our studio in Italy, combining custom paintwork craftsmanship with the technical precision required for international GT racing.
