The Driver and the Prominent 2022 Season
The 2022 season saw Endurance Specialist Matteo Cressoni engaged in a double and exciting international challenge at the highest levels of sports car racing, always under the colors of the prestigious Iron Lynx team. The Mantuan driver competed in both the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) and the European Le Mans Series (ELMS) at the wheel of the high-performance #60 Ferrari 488 GTE Evo.
In the prestigious WEC arena, Cressoni shared the cockpit with established teammate Claudio Schiavoni and a true legend of Italian motorsport and former Formula 1 driver, Giancarlo Fisichella. Together they tackled the most grueling marathons in the world, including the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans, finishing a solid eighth in the LMGTE Am class.
In ELMS, Cressoni formed a formidable crew along with Schiavoni and official Ferrari driver Davide Rigon. The highlight of the championship was undoubtedly the splendid and historic victory at the 4 Hours of Monza, conquered in front of the home crowd. After an initial disqualification due to a controversial push from a sister car, the team’s appeal restored the truth of the track, reassigning the win to the crew of the helmet painted by Dia Design, which finished the season in fourth place overall in the LMGTE standings.
The Concept and Design of the Helmet
The design of Matteo Cressoni’s Stilo ST5 helmet for the 2022 season stands out for its bold and high-impact color combination. The shell features a base combining luminous pearl white with an elegant deep dark blue, creating a clean and sharp contrast.
The graphics are enriched with sharp geometric lines and asymmetric accents in high-visibility neon red (rosso fluo) and neon green (verde fluo). This high-visibility color palette not only gives the helmet an aggressive and modern look, but also ensures that the driver is easily recognizable inside the cockpit of his Ferrari 488 GTE Evo during grueling WEC and ELMS endurance races. The High-Gloss finish enhances the depth of the blue and the brilliance of the fluorescent colors, while providing maximum protection and durability against extreme track conditions.
