The Driver
Andrea Fontana, originally from Belluno in the heart of the Veneto region, is an internationally established professional racing driver. Born in 1996, he began his competitive career in karting in 2004, standing out for his speed and dedication. His natural career progression led to his debut in Formula 4, followed by a championship victory in the 2016 F2 Italian Trophy. A major turning point occurred that same year when he was crowned World Champion in the prestigious Lamborghini Super Trofeo Pro-Am class in Valencia. Joining Lamborghini’s official GT3 Young Drivers program, he gained extensive experience behind the wheel of GT3 and GTE cars, competing in the world’s most competitive series, including the European Le Mans Series (ELMS) and the Italian GT Championship, always aiming for the historic 24 Hours of Le Mans.
The Concept
For a professional driver like Andrea, this custom Stilo helmet design represents not only a unique identity on the starting grid but also a masterpiece of technical styling. The Stilo ST5 shell is highly regarded in motorsport for its lightness and wide field of vision, making it the perfect choice for closed-cockpit racing.
The custom livery was designed to complement the helmet’s aggressive contours. The color palette is dominated by a deep racing green and a rich metallic black, lending the helmet an elegant yet highly dynamic look. One of the most iconic details of the project is the Italian tricolour pinstripes running along the sides, celebrating the driver’s nationality and passion. To enhance the visual impact, Dia Design applied a sophisticated mixed finish: the green sections and main graphic lines shine under the light with a high-gloss mirror finish, while the black fields feature a matte coating, creating a unique texture to both touch and sight. The final result is an exclusive helmet that perfectly merges fine craftsmanship with modern racing spirit.
