The Driver
Andreas Laskaratos is a professional Greek racing driver with a prominent international motorsport career. Born in Athens in 1986, he began competing in karting at the age of 10 in 1996, standing out at both national and international levels. His career subsequently moved into sports cars and sports prototypes, where he achieved his greatest competitive milestones. In 2021, Laskaratos captured the coveted Asian Le Mans Series drivers’ championship in the highly competitive LMP2 Am class driving for Era Motorsport. Having secured podiums and class wins in major endurance events, including the 12 Hours of Spa and the 12 Hours of Silverstone, and competed in the European Le Mans Series (ELMS), Laskaratos has established himself as an endurance specialist, racing for top-tier operations such as EuroInternational and Villorba Corse.
The Concept
This custom Arai helmet design for Andreas represents the perfect synergy between the iconic design philosophy of the Japanese manufacturer and the driver’s proud Greek nationality. The Arai GP-7 shell, certified to the highest FIA safety standards, provides outstanding aerodynamic stability and structural comfort, crucial factors for demanding, multi-hour endurance race stints.
The airbrushed layout, hand-crafted in our workshop, revolves around a striking color combination: deep metallic dark blue, bright white, and baby blue. This custom palette gives the helmet a fresh and modern presence on track, while directly invoking the traditional colors of Greece. The highlight of the graphic work is the stylized Greek flag integrated onto the rear and sides of the shell, blending seamlessly with the sharp geometric lines and dynamic pinstripes that define the layout. Every line was meticulously positioned to accentuate the ventilation ducts and aerodynamic flows of the Arai shell. A triple-layer high-gloss clear coat guarantees a long-lasting, deep finish, protecting the graphics from track debris during intense endurance races.
