On the occasion of the American leg of the Formula E World Championship, we created this Special Edition for Oliver Rowland. A unique Bell helmet custom paint, celebrating the bond between the Nissan driver and the US audience with an iconic, bold, and patriotic design. This project was born from the desire to create an immediate and memorable visual impact during the E-Prix in the USA.
USA Edition Design Analysis
The helmet temporarily moves away from the standard Nissan team livery to embrace graphic elements typical of American culture and the tech world. The design is characterized by unprecedented technical complexity:
- “Money” Texture: An exclusive graphic pattern referencing US dollars and symbols of financial success. This texture was realized with micro-details that integrate Black Castle logos in a nearly subliminal way.
- Vibrant Colors: A combination of “acid” neon green and digital “grid” gradients reflecting the technological and futuristic aesthetics of modern Formula E.
- Celebratory Elements: The USA flag is strategically placed on the sides, using a fading technique that blends it perfectly with the rest of the dynamic design.
Character and Style by Dia Design
Photographed against the backdrop of the legendary Brooklyn Bridge, this helmet is not just protection, but a celebratory work of art that captures the essence of electric speed. Dia Design’s mastery in applying such dense and complex textures to curved and irregular surfaces makes this Bell custom paint one of the most challenging and iconic projects to ever leave our workshop. The final high-gloss finish protects every detail, ensuring constant brilliance even under the scorching sun of American racetracks.
